Lemonade stands are a cherished summer tradition for many children, providing a fun way to pass the time and earn some money when they aren’t in school. This is the case for two young entrepreneurs, Zay Chatman and Kanijae Newsom, who set up their business on Independence and West End Blvd, weather permitting. These stands offer more than just refreshment; they are microcosms of real-world business. How often are kids in school asked to learn and exercise selling skills, marketing skills, social skills, and psychological skills? By running their lemonade stand, these young men are gaining hands-on experience in business and personal finance, lessons that go beyond the typical classroom curriculum. This practical experience not only bolsters their entrepreneurial spirit but also equips them with essential life skills that will benefit them in the future.
