Southern Illinois Regional Concert Chorus Forming: Announces 2025 Auditions

    Cairo, IL – A new musical opportunity is coming to Southern Illinois as the Southern Illinois Regional Concert Chorus prepares to launch its inaugural season. Founded by Harold S. Jones and under the direction of Nyghel Byrd, the chorus aims to bring together talented voices from across the region to perform classical choral masterpieces as well as beloved selections from Broadway musicals and Pop favorites.

    Auditions for the newly formed ensemble will take place on:
    Saturday, February 22 | 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
    Sunday, February 23 | 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
    Harold S. Jones Fine Arts Center, 815 Commercial Ave., Cairo, Illinois

    The Southern Illinois Regional Concert Chorus invites singers to audition for our 2025 season! Experience the beauty of performing great choral works by Mozart, Verdi, Vivaldi, and other classical masters, offering singers the chance to participate in an inspiring musical experience. The chorus is open to individuals from high school to adults, and there is no cost to participate.
