| Potential Water Capacity Challenge on the Horizon The City of Cape Girardeau’s Water Treatment Plant has experienced a mechanical failure. Plenty of safe, high-quality water is available now, but meeting the increasing demand for water will be challenging as summer approaches. In response, multiple engineering firms and contractors have been engaged to assess the damage and determine the most effective course of action for repairs. The City is actively working to resolve this issue to ensure the continued reliability of the water supply. It is important to emphasize that this issue is solely related to water production capacity and does not affect water quality. The City’s water supply continues to meet or exceed all state regulatory standards, ensuring safe and clean drinking water for the community. |
