Cape Girardeau, MO – February 13, 2025, marks the beginning of an exciting entrepreneurial journey for 20 aspiring business owners as they embark on the inaugural Launch U program. Designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills needed to start and sustain a successful business, this comprehensive program is a collaborative effort spearheaded by the Multicultural Business Development Alliance (MBDA) in partnership with the Southeast Missouri State University Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
Throughout the program, participants will explore best practices, learn from real-life business case studies, and gain insights from guest speakers—including industry professionals and successful entrepreneurs—who will share their expertise. The curriculum covers all critical aspects of launching and sustaining a business, providing practical guidance that participants can immediately apply to their ventures.
One of the program’s key components is LivePlan, an innovative business planning tool provided to participants. This tool walks them through the step-by-step process of crafting a viable business plan, setting a strong foundation for their future success. By the end of the program, each participant will have developed a comprehensive business plan, ready to present.
Additionally, MBDA is offering an exciting opportunity for participants to pitch their business ideas in a competitive setting, with a chance to win a cash award. This seed funding will help kickstart their businesses, providing crucial financial support at a critical early stage.
