Ashley Braxton Earns Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner)

    Ashley Gwenae Braxton achieved a significant milestone by earning her Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner) on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from Southeast Missouri State University. This accomplishment reflects her dedication and passion for advancing in the field of healthcare.
    In addition to this achievement, Ashley was inducted into the prestigious Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society on April 25, 2024, in a ceremony held at The University Center on the Southeast Missouri State University campus, graduating with honors. This recognition speaks to her academic excellence and commitment to the nursing profession.


    Ashley’s educational journey began with earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hampton University, where she graduated with honors. Following her graduation, she worked for two years as a Licensed Registered Nurse at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, Virginia.

    A proud graduate of Cape Central High School in Cape Girardeau, MO, she returned to the area after her time in Virginia and joined St. Francis Medical Center, where she dedicated eight years of service.


    Throughout her career, Ashley has been recognized for her exceptional care, receiving numerous Patient Care awards for her dedication to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to her patients. Her passion for nursing and her commitment to improving patient outcomes have earned her the respect of her colleagues and the admiration of her patients.
    As she completes her Nurse Practitioner Licensure, Ashley plans to pursue a position as a nurse practitioner with Nephrology Associates, owned by her father, Dr. Frank Braxton.
