Cape Girardeau Regional Airport Manager Katrina Amos Announces Resignation

Cape Girardeau, MO — Katrina Amos, the manager of Cape Girardeau Regional Airport, has officially announced her resignation, effective September 13. According to a news release from the City of Cape Girardeau, Amos will be stepping into a new role as Deputy Town Administrator in Collierville, Tennessee.

Reflecting on her tenure at the airport, Amos expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve the Cape Girardeau community. “It has been an honor to serve as the Airport Manager of the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport,” Amos shared in a statement. “I am proud of what we have accomplished together, and I am confident that the airport will continue to thrive in the years to come. I look forward to future opportunities in my new role as Deputy Town Administrator in Collierville, Tenn.”

A native of Sikeston, Amos succeeded Bruce Loy as airport manager in January 2020, following his service in the role. With nearly two decades of experience working for the City of Cape Girardeau, including 16 years at the airport, Amos has been a pivotal figure in the development and growth of the airport.

During her leadership, she successfully oversaw the construction of a new terminal and secured a crucial agreement with Contour Aviation, which provided passenger service to Nashville. However, flight service from Cape Girardeau to Nashville will soon be switched back to Chicago after a request was approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation, marking another significant change under Amos’s tenure.

Amos leaves behind a legacy of progress and dedication, with the airport well-positioned for continued success in the future.
